Alternative Osteoarthritis treatment and prevention
Arthritis cures your doctor may not tell you about!
Are you frustrated with hearing the same old story? “…there is not much that can be done for osteoarthritis…”Chances are that you are pumped full of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medication such as ibuprofen – pills that help ease the pain and inflammation but do not stimulate the body’ healing pathways. They may in fact lead to further joint degeneration by inhibiting cartilage formation. And if used for extended periods of time can cause undesirable side effects like:

  • gastrointestinal bleeding
  • ulcers
  • kidney damage
  • toxicity to auditory nerve cells

Well there are at least five alternative therapies that are proven to work that we can use to help prevent or treat crippling arthritis.
A number of studies have shown that regular chiropractic treatments reduce spine and disk degeneration which can lead to arthritis. Joints that are correctly aligned and functioning effectively reduce the type of abnormalities seen in osteoarthritis.
Acupuncture and massage not only act as preventative methods, they also initially help to relieve pain ultimately giving you a more 'natural' pain relief method. With regular treatment, these therapies help support nutrient uptake into the affected joints as well as the removal of waste material that tends to build up these areas. A number of European studies have shown that glucosamine relieves pain and goes to work repairing damaged cartilage associated
with arthritis. Chondroitin works differently but synergistically with glucosamine by attracting nutrient-rich, shock-absorbing fluid into the proteoglycan molecules, thus helping damaged cartilage repair. Omega 3 fish oil, on the other hand, helps fight all autoimmune diseases, so you will benefit from an increased overall wellbeing. All sound too confusing? Let us work with you to develop a more 'natural' treatment plan to treat or prevent debilitating osteoarthitis.
